Country Living

City boy and girl have officially moved to the country.

Some days, we step outside and can smell the cows that live down the road.

Yesterday, on a trip to the local Walgreens, we met this rooster and some of his friends who were hanging out near the entrance.

And late at night, when we're sitting on our balcony we see deer playing along the creek bed that lies less than 50 feet from our home, sometimes even venturing up to the paved path. Earlier tonight, two of them curiously watched me as I tried to quietly take their picture.

I love when nature presents itself to you where you least expect it! David's parents often see wild turkeys in their neighborhood, as does my brother (in a completely different part of the country) on his drive to and from work.

I think deer are some of my favorite animals. They look so sweet, and they are such pretty animals. Though that was my last thought when one dashed in front of my car on Caldwell Avenue a couple of weeks ago, as I drove home from Target!

I have vivid recollections of the sights and smells associated with farms/farm animals; LOVE that! Good Lord willing and Jesus tarries, that is something I long to return to (ask Esther). I envy you that - but am happy at once to know that you are enjoying it to no end!
God bless you both!
